With over 50 years of collective experience in the industry, we have a team of dedicated and passionate professionals who seek to advocate for the establishment of an Islamic-culture-based long-term care home. The aim is to provide culturally sensitive care to the most precious people in our lives; our parents; to meet the dietary, religious, cultural, social, psychological and linguistic needs of their elders, their families and their community.
Raza Khan, MD, CCFP, FCFP obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Toronto (1995), and completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Ottawa (1997). He has been in full time family practice in Brantford, Ontario since 1997. He has been active in the Muslim community having participated for many years on mosque boards. Dr. Khan currently board treasurer of Islamic Relief Canada, the largest Muslim NGO in Canada where he has been serving since 2014. He also serves as chairman of Mishka Social Services based in Brantford. He actively writes for the Hamilton Spectator newspaper on Muslim-related social and world matters.
Omar Shaikh, CPA is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 13 years of finance and accounting experience, of which seven years spent in supporting development, procurement and operations of long-term care and retirement homes. He brings expertise to RehmaCare in financial oversight and reviewing Union collective agreements to evaluate organizational financial impact. He has strong knowledge and expertise in MOHLTC operational and financial audits.
Farah Hameed, OT Reg. (Ont.) is a registered Occupational Therapist. She received her B.Sc. OT from the University of Ottawa in 1997, and completed her M.Sc. OT in 2018 from the University of Toronto. She has been practicing for over 20 years in the areas of muskuloskeletal disorders, stroke rehabilitatioin, and care coordination. Farah currently works as a Care Coordinator at the Central East Local Health Integration Network (CELHIN), where she helps patients navigate the long term care admission process. In addition, she also facilitates universal access to home care services.
Nighat Butt Business Administration, with past experience in real estate. Working as office manager in Long-Term Care since 2003 with several chains such as Responsive Group (formally Royalcrest), Sienna (formerly Leisureworld), and now Revera Inc. Her core functions entail resident admissions, rate reductions, accounts receivable, accounts payable, marketing, human resources, information technology, financial management and customer service. She is part of the senior leadership team in Long-Term Care Home operations, Chair of the Health and Safety and Budget Committee.
